Happy Friday!
I’m back with another Weekly Boost, a roundup of things I’m exploring, creating, or simply enjoying to help you get that extra edge this week.
Your sleep talking highlight reel
Sleep talking is hilarious and I recently learned I do it quite a bit.
Sleep Cycle released a new feature that captures an audio recording any time you talk in your sleep, snore, or move around.
My Dad visited me in Austin recently and we were cracking up listening to my nonsensical sleep rants.
I bought Sleep Cycle back in the day for 99 cents so I was grandfathered into the premium plan. Now it’s $29.99/mo with a 7-day free trial. I’m not convinced it’s worth the price tag, but it might be worth trialing to catch a glimpse of your subconscious mind.
Thinking for yourself
Paul Graham just put out a new essay, How To Think For Yourself.
Graham is one of the clearest thinkers I’ve come across. He has a knack for conveying complex ideas with simple, memorable analogies.
In this essay, he talks about how to cultivate independent thinking. If one sentence could summarize the whole essay, it’s this:
The three components of independent-mindedness work in concert: fastidiousness about truth and resistance to being told what to think leave space in your brain, and curiosity finds new ideas to fill it.
If you’re in a field that requires non-conventional thinking, this is a must read.
I hope you enjoyed this week’s Boost!
