Hello!
Welcome to the Weekly Boost—a roundup of things I’m exploring, creating, or simply enjoying to help you get that extra edge this week.
I’m Matt Levene (@mattjlevene). Some of my favorite topics include health, fitness, self discovery, consciousness, and the art of living. As I explore, experiment, and battle-test, I will share the good stuff here.
On with the Boost…
Build good habits + support global literacy
A few years ago, my friend Victor and I created Flip Band to help people build new habits and live a better life.
My friend Zach Horvath just launched a wristband campaign for Live A Great Story to raise money for Room to Read. Zach’s goal is to raise enough money to support about 20 years of literacy education.
I love this idea, so we’re jumping in. For every Flip Band purchased through May 16, we are donating one week of literacy education towards the Live A Great Story campaign.
Rethinking the story of human existence
Last week I read Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. If you’re a human on this earth, I consider this book essential reading. I realize that is a big statement.
Ishmael re-examines our beliefs about our relationship to the world and how we came to be. It has profound implications for where we should go as a civilization.
Warning: if you read this book, prepare to pull at the roots of deep-seated beliefs you may have not have realized you held.
If you have read this book, let me know. I’d love to have more discussions about it.
Send this to your dad
…and try not to cry.
That’s all for this week’s Boost! Live well.
