Hello!
Welcome to the Weekly Boost—a roundup of things I’m exploring, creating, or simply enjoying to help you get that extra edge this week.
I’m Matt Levene (@mattjlevene). Some of my favorite topics include health, fitness, self discovery, consciousness, and the art of living. As I explore, experiment, and battle-test, I will share the good stuff here.
On with the Boost…

Gut health check-in with Viome
I just received my test results from Viome.
Viome analyzes blood and stool samples to assess the health of your gut and how it’s performing.
Based on my results, these are the first actions I’m going to take:
Eliminate broccoli for the time being. I eat 3-4 pounds of broccoli per week, but it came up on my list of foods to “Avoid.” My results suggest that eliminating broccoli could improve my sulfide gas production pathways and TMA production pathways.
Avoid brussels sprouts, eggs, garlic, onion, stevia, and white rice. I consume these occasionally but they appeared on my “Minimize” or “Avoid” list. Stevia will be the trickiest because it’s in some otherwise good supplements in my cabinet, so I’ll need to find substitutes for those.
Add apple, grapefruit, oregano, sage, and sauerkraut. These are all easy to implement and are some of the foods that appear on my “Superfood” list.
I’ll be sure to follow up with you guys later on if there are any noticeable effects from these changes.
Note: Viome doesn’t look for food allergies. I’m considering Cyrex Array #10 to see if I have any food allergies or sensitivities flying under the radar.
